The Marquee 2012

Aiken Promotions officially announced the first act for the 2012 festival on November 7th, 2011, with Christy Moore performing alongside Declan Sinnott on June 23, 2012. This will mark the eight consecutive year Christy has performed at the festival.

i've seen him a good few times, and i think he's great. sure, he isn't a great musician by any stretch of the imagination, but that's why he has decky with him.

with christy, it's all about the story, and that, in my opinion, is one side of music that is slowly dying out.

Christys cool and all that but I hope there is someone reasonably contemporary and modern next year and if they cant do that what about Black Sabbath? Now that would be epic.

Saw Christy down in Coolea at the Feile na Laoch festival. He did a duet with Glen Hansard of the old triangle. Fucking excellent and all for free.

Lol the old doll loves him. Was mad into the Frames as well. Went to a few concerts with her and I was the guy who went to the bar to get the drinks when the gig was on. Not really my scene though I like some of the tunes off of Once. Allegedly hes a pain in the hole in real life but then again I havent any hard evidence to back that up with.

i saw him in dublin once. i was sitting in a cafe, and he was walking along with a guitar on his back, looking around to see if anyone knew who he was.

i left the cafe and shouted "GLEN!!!!"

he looked around, overjoyed that someone had spotted him.
