What ever happened to all of those alternative bands during the 80's

Post  Duff Man on Wed Nov 16, 2011 12:14 pm

MTV Classic is on in the background and it got me to wondering. There doing the top 20 alternative songs of the 80 and so far we have had the Banshees, PIL, the Cure, The Waterboys, Depeche Mode, New Order, Pixies , the Specials etc etc. I used to love these bands and similar when they were a bright light in the dross that was the 80's
I know what some of them are at such as New Order and the Cure but others I havent heard from in years. Would probably go to a concert if any of them staged a revival.
The top three according to MTV were...
3 The Stone Roses.

2 Joy Division Love will tear us apart

1 The Smiths

I was about to give out that Stoneroses were not 80's and then I checked Wiki and the album the Stoneroses came out in 1989. Just in time to kickstart the 90's
