rolling stone top 100 guitarists

i wish i knew the context in which the list was compiled, as i certainly don't agree with some of the listings. george harrison at #11.....really? i never got the sense he was that good. if so, why did he have clapton play all his leads on his solo records? clapton, like?
surely it must be based on contribution to rock music as a whole, and not on actual guitar skills.

They have Jones from the pistols in the top 100. I love the pistols but the guy could only play 3 cords ffs.

They should retitle it guitarists good average and mediocre from some of the most influential bands of all time list.

Not quite as catchy though.
