Croke Park can only have a say in who the new county secretary is if the relevant person is being appointed for more than a 1 year term.Instead Mr Frank reappointed himself on a 1 year term and then there will be another 1 year and another 1 year term. You'd think the cunt would have the decency to fuck off at this stage.

Tipp play Limerick in the quarter final. Winners play us. Looks like we're playing Tipp again. Thats every year since 2003.
Whether thats good or bad I don't know.

I think, for once, we have a management team and a full squad available that, working together, will be able to hit the ground running into the league.
Can't wait for it to be honest.

It looks quite a good setup tbh. It will be interesting to see what style they play when the league starts. I feel if they get a good run in the league it will stand to them come championship and then they have the big one against Tipp in the Pairc. I'm the same I cant wait either.

Small matter of Tipp first YoughalY. I reckon Tipp will come out all guns blazing after their final defeat but you never know. A good run in the league and a rediscovered team spirit and drive can go a long way.

Seán Óg return no big deal, insists Barry-Murphy
By Michael Moynihan
Friday, November 18, 2011
CORK hurling manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy says the reinstatement of Seán Óg Ó hAilpín to the squad is "not a big deal" as far as he and his selectors are concerned.
Ó hAilpín was dropped by former manager Denis Walsh ahead of the 2011 championship, but Barry-Murphy and his selectors included the 2005 Cork All-Ireland-winning captain in their training panel.
Barry-Murphy said: "Seán Óg is part of an extended panel for training... When we sat down as selectors we felt that on the basis of what was available, he might have something to offer.
"It’s not a huge deal as far as we’re concerned — it’s a training panel, and Seán Óg knows, having been out for a year, that it may not be easy for him to get back, but we feel he brings qualities and we’ll assess it going forward."
Regarding the availability to the hurlers of Cork senior footballers Ciaran Sheehan and Aidan Walsh, Barry-Murphy pointed out that his own dual career was not comparable to the present day situation.
"The dual player situation is awkward in that my experience, or Brian Corcoran’s, or Seán Óg’s, is irrelevant because the back door at club and county level changed the scene totally," says Barry-Murphy.
"The number of games and level of preparation required means it’s very difficult to do both nowadays.
"Ciaran and Aidan would be phenomenal assets to have — let’s be honest, they’d be on any intercounty panel — and we’d love to have them available, but I’m fully aware they’re with the footballers. All we’ll be doing is keeping the door open and hopefully at some stage they may be available to us."
Barry-Murphy also said that some promising youngsters — separate to those on the training panel — have been notified and told they may figure on the senior team later in 2012: "We’ve identified a number of players outside the panel and they’ve been told they may be in our plans later in the year — some very promising young players."

The footballers need Aidan and Ciaran more than the hurlers do.Besides the footballers will be thereabouts for next year's all ireland. The hurlers will be rebuilding for the next 4-5 years.

I'd say the need is fairly acute for the hurlers but it is up to the lads themselves and neither are interested for this season at least so thats that.

Its a biggy next weekend. This will be the toughest test yet and will show us how far we've really come.
Just seen that Daly will be without Ryan for the rest of the League. Thats a big blow to their chances of avoiding relegation.
Just seen that Daly will be without Ryan for the rest of the League. Thats a big blow to their chances of avoiding relegation.
Dublin hurling manager Anthony Daly will have to plan without Paul Ryan for the remainder of the 2012 Allianz Hurling League.
Ryan impressed in the first 14 minutes of Dublin's Division 1 defeat to Kilkenny on Sunday as he racked up 1-03 for the Metropolitans. However, he was forced off with a hamstring injury and he is not expected to be fit before the end of the league.
The loss off the Ballyboden St Enda's man is a huge blow to Dublin as he has been one of Daly's leading scorers this year and his absence could prove costly as the reigning champions struggle to preserve their Division One status.
