Looking forward to Thursday. Good for the team to have europa league games against class opposition. It can only bring them on and it helps to attract better players to the club.

What a week for Irish soccer to have the big 3 in top european action.

Celtic, United, Rovers.

Some week up in Dublin this week if you include their footballers too.

Could get hosed on Thursday. They may have sold Forlan and Aguero but they bought Falcao who was lethal for Porto last season.

I'd play Hooper up on his own in a 4-5-1 but for Sundays trip to Ibrokes i'd bring back in Stokes as Celtic should have nothing to fear going there.

A shillacking on Thursday could have reprocussions for Sunday though.

1-0 to athletico after 20 minutes. I expect it to get worse rather then better for celtic. Sad Athletico are a class side.

Much better from Celtic at the start of the second half.

Still 1-0

Well at least they got rid of the worst first. The league is the priority, the Europa is a money-spinner.

Played well but it ended with a 0-1 at home to Athletico Madrid. They will have to beat Udinese in their last group fixture in Italy on December 15th to leapfrog the Italian club into second place. Big ask considering they have been piss poor away from home in Europe but in a winner takes all match who knows.
